HR compliance without the bureaucracy

Policy volume is not policy quality. A concise, consistently applied handbook outperforms a comprehensive one nobody reads.

Compliance failures rarely come from missing policies. They come from policies that are inconsistent with practice.

Audit what managers actually do before writing what they should do. The gap between the two is the real work.

Write in plain language and keep each policy to a single decision: who decides, on what basis, within what timeframe.

Train once a year, document the training, and review policies on a fixed cycle rather than after an incident.
